profileMissy Roback’s fiction has been published in American Fiction Volume 14 (New Rivers Press), Word Riot, Little Patuxent Review, and Stymie Magazine, and has been shortlisted for the American Fiction Short Story Award and the Poets & Writers’ California Writers Exchange Award, among others. She has also contributed to Jim Walsh’s book, The Replacements: All Over But the Shouting (Voyageur Press, 2007). She has received fellowships from the Ucross Foundation and Writing by Writers, and has an MFA from the University of San Francisco.

Missy’s CD, Just Like Breathing (Hear Kitty Records, 2002), made several year-end best-of lists, including that of the Chicago Sun-Times, and the song “Compass” was featured on the TV drama “Felicity.” Missy has also appeared on Rave On: A Tribute to the Reducers, Vol. 1 (Good Sponge Records, 2012), Mellow Drunk’s Always Be Drunk (Green Fuse Records, 2000), Mandible Chatter’s Measuring the Marigolds (Russell Records, 1999), and Viva Saturn’s Ships of Heaven (Restless Records, 1998) and Brightside (Restless, 1995).
